This Large Inspection Chamber (LIC) has a cross section of 450mm and has a height of 270mm. This can be extended up to 1200mm with the use of a chamber riser, available in 235mm height.
When used with a Restricted access cover and frame, for safety, many risers can be used on top of each other down to a depth of 3000mm.
This LIC has 5 inlets exiting at 45° and 90° to the main flow. The outlets on this Large Inspection Chamber are fixed in position, this leads to a cheaper cost, but can prove to be trickier to install due to there being no margin for area on the pipe layout and angles.
We can also supply adjustable outlet chambers which can significantly speed up installation and can require less extra bends to connect up.

On top of this chamber you will need to pick a suitable frame and cover. These can be round or square and we have a cover frame suitable for block paving to be installed onto.
Any changes in direction of the main flow should be achieved outside of the chamber with the use of pipe bends. The self cleansing of the chamber cannot be guaranteed if you try to change the direction of main flow inside the chamber, due to the design.
After the pipe work and chamber have been fitted in place, the trench should be filled up to the crown of the pipework with pea shingle or similar, and the rest can be back filled with the dug out earth up to ground level.
